![]() ![]() Equally disappointing was the grossly over-priced non- descript wine list. Our dinner, which was the only item offered was breast of chicken! Our friend commented, "This is like the chicken at Costco." OH, by the way, we are paying $300 plus per person for a breast of chicken entree. An hour later we were the last people seated in the restaurant. We were told to wait for a table in the garden area and given a glass of champagne and bread sticks. The maitre d'hotel still claimed Anerican Express didn't make the reservation. We were very hungry by 9, and we were their on time, and I showed them the confirmation number from Amex. They said to return at 9 and we would have a table. They asked for a confirmation number, which was left at our hotel - 30 minutes away. ![]() We arrived with our friends and were told we had no reservation. We reserved a table through Americn Express Concierge service at 6pm. Michelin any star restaurant, we have ever visited. We have eaten at many (over 20) Michelan 3 star restaurants including several times at Freddy Girardet's Hoetl de Ville in Crissier, Taillevaent, Laserre, Paul Bocuse, several times at Le Tour d'Argent where we became engaged in 1977 etc. This is a hyped up experience that is not worth the price. While I understand reservations to the restaurant are some of the hottest tickets in town, there is no way we would want to go back and pay this kind of money for a less than 4 star experience. The only real thing they offered was an opportunity to have another reservation anytime we wanted. So while the wine pairing alone was bad, the accident should have justified a little more and better attention. The total price tag for 4 people eating, (two who did the beef up charge and three who did the wine pairing) was over $2,800 before tax, tip and service fee for the reservation. Even after our friend requested more champagne twice. When we commented on the issue we were told we could have some more white but, it never arrived. ![]() When we returned to the table the only wine remaining was the red that had spilled. Great idea and wonderful service but, we all had white wine left from an earlier pour and a bit of champagne which we were saving. This was nice but, the idea was to get us away from the table so they could change the table cloth. They should have brought us another bottle or offered each one of us another glass to cover the next course.įinally, shortly after the wine spill occurred they asked if we wanted to see the kitchen. We were told to save our wine as we had two course to go across with what wine was left. Second, while they brought him another small glass of wine to replace the wine in the bottle that had spilled we lost most of our shard bottle and the small amount remaining was not enough to cover our next course. Doing it at the table was just nasty and embarrassing. to the table!!!! Ok, I get the idea to help get the spot out but, they should have just brought a towel and asked him to follow them to the restroom where he could have have to spot remove pad and water waiting for him in a place where he could have removed his shirt or been more comfortable dealing with the big wet red spot. First, the brought him a glass of soda water and a spot remover pad…. Now this happens but, the reaction was crazy. Well, the sommelier accidentally dropped the bottle when he was pouring our friends glass which resulted in a lot of red wine spilling on our friends shirt and the table. It’s fair to say service is very good and better than most restaurants however, remember the small pours we received from the little bottles of wine. Quality would have been slightly better and pours per person would have been more and definitely cheaper. We would have been better off buying two separate bottles. This meant, each of us received very small pours. The used a 1/2 bottle format to pour for 3 people. The wines they served were low priced and low quality. We were a group of 4 with 3 of us adding on the wine pairing at a cost of and additional $300pp.
